imageLinks visualises nearly all established object types (graphic and MS-Windows formats) using a thumbnail or preview presentation instead of just the mime-type icon.

imageLinks enables users to manage not only documents but also images, PDF’s and small videos in an Open Text Content Server environment.

The thumbnail presentation supports you to find the desired image / document much easier and faster.

Since the thumbnails and previews are rendered into jpg-files they are smaller (in terms of volume – KB’s instead of MB’s) than the original file. This helps to save network resources and provides faster access to the requested document.

Thumbnail: The thumbnail view presents an image with its title, subtitle, size, create / modify date (default Open Text Content Server functionality).

Preview: By clicking on the thumb- nail the preview image opens in a screen-filling display with categories, IPTC and Exif metadata.

Viewer / Editor: Another click on the preview image opens the image in the viewer/editor. A number of editing functionalities can be applied (e.g. save to hard disk, save back to the Open Text Content Server, print, crop, rotate, etc.) plus 25 different filter functions.

imageLinks is able to show the metadata standards IPTC and Exif in jpg files. Furthermore the content of metadata as well as the standard Open Text Content Server ECM metadata are full text searchable. The IPTC metadata can be used as a more detailed description and classification of images. They can be edited by a Content Server user.

imageLinks offers the functionality for thumbnail and preview in two types of folders: Media Collection (own SAW folder type) and Media Container (standard Open Text Content Server ECM folder). To use this functionality in the standard folder this folder has to be converted into a Media Container object type.

The Media Container offers the ability of displaying thumbnail and preview while the Media Collection object type provides the entire functionality to manage digital assets.

An image can be inserted into an Office document by using the easy copy to clipboard functionality.

Depending on the intended use there is a choice to download different image sizes (thumbnail, preview or original size).

The search result set includes the thumbnail of the image or video clip. Also preview and the viewer/editor can be accessed from the function menu of the result set.

The "Resized Copy to Clipboard" functionality is used to copythe original image to the clipboard an to paste it from there into e.g. any MS office application. You can choosefrom a list of pre- designed resolutions or type in a user defined size.
